We were asked in by Money Advice Service to build a permanent development team from scratch. They already had some exceptionally talented contractors in, who were doing a marvelous job – and the plan was to support them and build a permanent team around them to take Money Advice Service to the next level of their digital transformation.

We provided strategic advice a few months before the hiring began on what the team shape could look like, bench marked salary ranges, assisted with job specification and advert writing and understanding how the new team would fit into the company.

We worked with the Human Resources Director, the board, and the developers in place to ensure a smooth team build.

We then provided candidates for interview and directly hired in 14 people in 12 weeks, comprising ruby developers, tech project managers, a quality assurance person, front ends developers and a business analyst.

We were then extended to find a head of digital and head of development, which we did in one month.

Once we’d finished our build we caked up the team and left them to get on with making great products for Money Advice Service and their users!
